1. Overview

Doing Lines is a rehearsal and script-practice tool that provides features such as:

• Script storage and annotation
• Voice recognition for line-prompting
• AI-generated line readings and scene partner responses
• Cast collaboration and shared projects
• Cloud backup and multi-device sync

These Terms govern your use of the App and all related services.

2. Licence to Use the App

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the App for personal or collaborative rehearsal purposes.

You may not:

• Reverse-engineer or modify the App
• Use the App to distribute copyrighted scripts without permission
• Use AI features to generate content that violates copyright or privacy laws
• Use the App for commercial casting, distribution, or public performance without authorisation

All intellectual property in the App belongs to the developer.

Your use of the App does not grant you ownership rights to the App or its underlying technology.

3. User Accounts

To access collaboration, cloud sync, or subscription features, you must create an account.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate information
• Keep your login credentials secure
• Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content

You may upload or create content including:

• Scripts
• Notes and annotations
• Audio recordings
• Cast lists
• Scene breakdowns

You retain ownership of your content.

By using the App, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your content solely to operate the App and its features (e.g., syncing, collaboration, AI line-reading).

You confirm that:

• You have rights to any script you upload
• Your content does not violate copyright, privacy, or other legal protections

We do not claim ownership of your scripts or creative work.

5. AI Features

The App may include:

• AI line-reading
• AI scene partner dialogue
• Voice recognition for cueing
• Automated timing, pacing, or memorisation analysis

You agree that:

• AI outputs may be imperfect or inaccurate
• AI features must not be used to generate copyrighted text beyond what you have rights to use
• You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of AI-generated content

We may update or modify AI features at any time.

6. Collaboration Features

The App may allow:

• Shared scripts
• Shared notes
• Cast lists
• Real-time or asynchronous collaboration

You agree not to upload or share:

• Scripts you do not have rights to distribute
• Personal information about others without consent
• Harassing, abusive, or inappropriate content

We are not responsible for the actions of other collaborators.

7. Subscriptions & Payments

Some features require a paid subscription.

Billing

• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
• You authorise us to charge your payment method
• Prices may change with notice

Free Trials

If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged automatically.

Refunds

Refunds are handled according to applicable law and platform policies (Apple App Store, Google Play, etc.).

8. Device & Technical Requirements

Some features require:

• Microphone access
• Camera access (optional)
• Internet connection
• Cloud storage permissions

You are responsible for ensuring your device meets these requirements.

9. Prohibited Use

You may not:

• Upload copyrighted scripts without permission
• Use AI features to recreate copyrighted works
• Attempt to disrupt or exploit the App
• Use the App for harmful, illegal, or abusive behaviour

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for:

• Violations of these Terms
• Fraudulent or abusive behaviour
• Legal or security concerns

Upon termination, your licence ends and you must stop using the App.

11. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• The App is provided "as is"
• We do not guarantee memorisation results, performance outcomes, or AI accuracy
• We are not liable for data loss, missed rehearsals, or scheduling errors

12. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including:

• Lost rehearsal time
• Lost creative work
• Performance outcomes
• Collaboration disputes

Your use of the App is at your own risk.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer from any claims, damages, or costs (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms
• Your use of the App in an unauthorised manner
• Any scripts or content you upload that violates third-party rights
• Your collaboration activities or disputes with other users

15. Third-Party Services and Links

The App may integrate with or link to third-party services, including cloud infrastructure, voice generation, analytics, and payment processing providers. We are not responsible for:

• Third-party service availability or accuracy
• Third-party policies or terms of service
• Any data shared with third parties as described in our Privacy Policy

16. Jurisdiction and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the developer regarding your use of the App. Any previous agreements, negotiations, or discussions are superseded by these Terms.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, or if that is not possible, it will be severed. The remaining provisions will continue in effect.

19. Waiver

The failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by the developer.

20. Feedback and Suggestions

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or improvements regarding the App, you grant the developer the right to use this feedback without restriction or compensation.
